Season 1 - An Elephant Fucks A Pig - Classic Early South Park. Name alone says it all. The addition of the clone Stan makes this hysterical.
Season 2 - Chef Aid - A very uncommon thing these days happened in this episode. A whole bunch of guest stars. The stories of how Chef helped artists before they got famous is great.
Season 3 - Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery - Hard to pick just one episode for Season 3 but here it is. A comment on heavy metal music and any music in general in which peoeple automatically get pissed off before listening to it.
Season 4 - Trapper Keeper - Great Terminator/Florida recount episode. Garrison/Trey's rant to Rosie O'Donnell is right on the money to stuck up Celebs.
Season 5 - Osama bin Laden Has Farty Pants - If and when I make a top 10 best episode list of South Park this is going to be very high on the list. Funny funnny take on the Invasion of Afganistan. The scenes between Cartman and Osama Bin Laden are a great mash up of South Park and Looney Toons humor.
Season 6 - Child Abduction Is Not Funny - In my opinion Season 6 is the best season of South Park thus far so again it was hard to pick only 1 from it. But this episode is still timeless to me in terms of laughs.
Season 7 - Christian Rock Hard - Great show about downloading music. Also hysterical are the songs about Jesus. Hamlet 2 ripped a few jokes off from this episode (wouldn't be the first time a movie or TV show has stolen Trey and Matt's Jokes)
Season 8 - The Passion Of The Jew - Trey and Matt like Mel Gibson movies....but they really didn't like The Passion of The Christ. Funny take on the issue brought up by that film. The Daffy Duck version of Mel was years before the phone rants which makes it all the funnier today.
Season 9 - Free Willyzyx - The final shot is just amazing. The episode itself is funny but that final shot.... so stupid yet considering what the episode is all about......brilliant.
Season 10 - Make Love Not War Craft - Great story and so many funny jokes in this one. Got a much deserved Emmy award. Great Randy moments.
Season 11 - With Apologies To Jesse Jackson - Another incredibly stupid yet brilliant episode. One of Randy's best and Cartman fighting the little person is incredible. N _ G G E R S. People who Annoy You.
Season 12 - Major Boobage - Has one of my favorite cut jokes of all time. Also a great send up to the 80s movie Heavy Metal.
Season 13 - Fishsticks - One joke used for 22 mins yet still remains funny til the end. Maybe the reason I love this episode so much is how much I fucking hate Kayne West. It is my goal to get him to sign a copy of my DVD of Season 13....than call him a gayfish just to see his reaction. One of the best South Park endings.
Season 14 - ? Season 14 has finished and had some really good episodes but I can't pick a fav because Ive only watched a few.

Return Of The Blog LIST - Ten Best Performances Looked Over by The Oscars
*Because I really don't want to order these (Way too hard) I'm going by the year of the film and performance in question.*
1994 - Johnny Depp - Ed Wood - Ed Wood - Johnny Depp really does get lost in his characters and creates off the wall and memorable ones at that. But he really does his best work in Ed Wood. Wood was a real man and if he was like he is depicted in the film or not isnt the point. Johnny Depp creates such a memorable character ten times better than anything the performances he ended up getting nominations for. I do not understand why the academy thought to nominate and give the oscar that year to Martin Landau but not even recognize Depp's work in the film.
1995 - Tom Hanks - Jim Lovell - Apollo 13 - What I really don't understand here is why the academy thought Tom Hanks was good enough to award him the Oscar two years in a row (93 and 94) but didn't even give him a nomination in 95 for his best performance ever. Apollo 13 had 9 nominations including best picture! Tom Hanks couldn't be better here.
1996 - Mel Gibson - Tom Mullen - Ransom - Say what you want about Mel Gibson, but the son of a bitch can act. Gibson is so believable in this film and when he gets frustrated or overwhelmed I get shivers. This is ten times better than Billy Bob Thorton's fucking performance in Sling Blade.
1999 - Jim Carrey - Andy Kaufman - Man On The Moon - There is never love for comedians at the oscars. Also there is never love for Jim Carrey. His Truman Show performance also failed to get a nom. But here is his best dramactic work. Man On The Moon is quite possibly the best bio pic ever. Carrey's performance is scary good. He sounds, looks, and IS Andy Kaufman.
1999 - Bruce Willis - Malcolm Crowe - The Sixth Sense - Speaking of actors who the academy hates...... Bruce Willis who is usually known for tough guy roles plays a somber and broken child psychologist. There is no hint of John McClain or any of the other tough guy action roles he is famous for. Willis can do comedy. He certainly can do action. The Sixth Sense proved he can do drama.
2002 - Tom Cruise - John Anderton - Minority Report - Part of the reason Minority Report is so good is Tom Cruise. His character's evolution in the film is extraordinary and the scene where he finally confronts the man he is supposed to kill is perfect. Minority Report has it all. Cruise is one of my favorite actors. In Minority Report Tom Cruise serious actor and Tom Cruise action hero came together and it couldn't be better.
2002 - Edward Norton - Monty Brogan - 25th Hour - Norton had countless great performances in a row and with Monty Brogan he hit his peak. Brogan's monologue to himself in the mirror is one of my favorite moments in film. Add that to the opening scene or the countless other scenes in this perfect film. You have a perfect performance that the academy thought wasn't good enough. I might add that Daniel Day Lewis was nominated that year for Gangs Of New York.............. a role i feel is worthy of a supporting nomination.
2004 - Christian Bale - Trevor Reznik - The Machinest - A lot of people say that Bale's performance is all looks and thats it. I disagree. True. Bale looking litearlly like a walking skeleton does add to the performance but he could have looked like that and not acted the way he did as the character. Bale is incredible the way he gets so into this role. You are not looking at Christian Bale the actor who is crazy for doing this to himself. You are looking at Trevor Reznik. Who you wonder why he has done this to himself. One of my fav neo noir mystery movies.
2005 - Aaron Eckhart - Nick Naylor - Thank You For Smoking - Michael Jordan plays ball. Charles Manson kills people. I talk. Everyone has a talent. So Says Nick Naylor. Thank You For Smoking is so smart, funny, and original. It needed a guy who could play a slimeball but also be funny and sympathitic. Eckhart puts everything into this role. I recently saw him in Rabbit Hole and hope the Academy sees the error of their ways and gives this great actor some credit.
2006 - Leonardo DiCaprio - Billy Costigan - The Departed - Leo was nominated for Blood Diamond this year and don't get me wrong he's great in that too. But William Costigan is his best work ever. His best performances in one of his best films. The Globes got it. They nominated him for both. But the Academy thought they would only nom him for Blood Diamond. Than they gave the award to Forrest Whitaker who should have won that year for supporting role........ God Damn Academy.
That's all folks.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds: A review
So i tried out Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. Honestly I really didn't think much of them. ok. So I just tried the B Sides and Rarities. I guess those are for big big fans. But really some of the songs on the B Sides and Rarities were other versions of songs already done by the band.
Don't get me wrong. Some of the songs were ok. But I stress the fact of OK. If they are played by friends or on the radio than that's fine. I'm really not going out of my way to listen to them though from now on. Most were boring. Yet.......YET. I come to my real point. Most of the songs I found boring and as songs I didn't want to hear but Nick Cave has composed the scores to two of my favorite scores ever. The Proposition and The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford have two of the best scores in film. When I heard that the composer of those films was the front runner for a band I was excited. Yet alas! Mr.Cave you should quit your day job. Keep making soundtracks!
Mr.Cave....I repeat (and I know you read this blog) Danny Elfman tried it with Oingo Boingo! Mr.Cave just score movies! Your better at it. Trust me!

Planes, Trains, And Masterbation
Due Date
Directed by Todd Phillips
Staring : Robert Downey Jr. Zach Galifianakis, Michelle Monaghan
My Rating: 2/5
Due Date brings two very popular actors together for what could have been a very popular and funny movie. The film's major flaw is the notion that anything Galifianakis says will be funny. Quite a few times there are things he says which are funny. But the many times he isn't left me feeling very uncomfortable. It's really awkward when a bad joke fails and the scene cuts.
Due Date follows Peter Highman (Downey) who through a series of events finds himself stuck with human tornado Ethan Trembley (Galifianakis) while trying to get home to his wife (Monaghan) before she gives birth.
Watching the film I couldn't help but be reminded of the classic 80s film "Planes, Trains, And Automobiles". The plots are almost exactly the same as are the characters. The problem with Due Date is the Galifianakis character and the situations both characters find themselves in (I'm thinking of one in particular). Planes, Trains was great because as annoying as the John Candy character was you still felt bad for him in a way. I can't even comprehend why the writers of this film thought it was a good idea to try to bring heartfelt and sympathetic moments to the movie. Having the Galifianakis character start jerking off in front of the Downey Jr. character, not to mention some of the things he says does not make him sympathetic.
The movie does have some laughs. Galifianakis has some good lines and scenes. But The Hangover had other comedic and offbeat characters with him. This movie is Galifianakis overload. Downey is one of my favorite actors and he plays a great straight man. One of the best scenes in the film involves Downey looking after a drug dealers kids.
The film just fails on so many levels. Lots of jokes fall dead on the floor and the scenes of sympathy make the film uncomfortable and weird. Its obvs to the plot that by the end the two characters will become friends but the way it comes about in Due Date is just like the snap of a finger. Yes I did laugh a few times. Yet all Due Date achieved was making me want to watch Planes Trains and Automobiles again.

Original Song Top Ten
This is a list of my picks for the top ten songs written specifically for the movies they are in. Most (if not all were nominated for Oscars and most deserved to win and didn't. Enjoy:
10. Eye Of The Tiger - Rocky 3: Everyone knows it and everyone loves it. A classic motivational training song.
9. Ghostbusters - Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr: One of the first songs I remember hearing as a kid. If someone doesn't know the theme to Ghostbusters than they have been living under a rock or in Iraq for many years.
8. Vanilla Sky - Vanilla Sky - Paul McCartney - The soundtrack to this movie is great by itself but when this track comes up over the credits it is so perfectly placed and goes so well with the background. A dreamlike and amazing song.
7. Blaze Of Glory - Young Guns 2 - Bon Jovi - A song where I love the song and just think of the movie as so so. The movie was better when I was 11 or 12 but I still hold a place for it and this song in my heart.
6. Be Prepared - The Lion King - Another nostalgia song. Was one of my favorite Disney songs as a kid and still remains great. Beats "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" any day.
5. .You've Got A Friend In Me - Toy Story - Randy Newman - Yet another Disney and yet another nostalgia song. Randy Newman's music outside of Disney and Pixar is good but this is the one he will long be remembered for.
4. The Hands That Built America - Gangs Of New York - U2 - A very moving and powerful song. I remember being really pissed off when this lost the Oscar in 2002 or 3 to M&M's "Lose Yourself". Again this song is perfect when the credits start at the end of the film.
3. Falling Slowly - Once - Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova - I could not stop listening to this song after I watched the movie. The music and lyrics are phenomenal. Having to choose one song from this soundtrack is hard enough but this was the first one i heard and remains my favorite.
2. Live And Let Die - Live And Let Die - Paul McCartney - The best bond theme from a time where some of the worst Bond movies came out. McCartney was robbed the Oscar that year. Great opening to the movie.
1. Times Have Changed - Wonder Boys - Bob Dylan. - I did not enjoy Wonder Boys. The performances were ok but the story and characters just didn't do it for me. I was bored out of my mind at times and not laughing when I should have been. Yet when I heard the theme to Wonder Boys by Bob Dylan I was sold. Dylan's voice and lyrics are in top form. This is completely different from the boring title song he turned out for The Hurricane. I don't remember much of Wonder Boys other that I didn't like it. Times Have Changed I remember quite well. It is one Dylan's best.
10. Eye Of The Tiger - Rocky 3: Everyone knows it and everyone loves it. A classic motivational training song.

Tuesday - Music, Video Games, and other such none movie pop culture stuff
